PERSPECTIVE
Japan and Germany were allies. After Canada joined the Great Britain war against Germany this made Japanese Canadians enemies. Canada also traded with the United States, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, it made it even harder for Japanese Canadians. Lots of people were afraid that they would take away all their jobs. When the Japanese Canadian were forced to go into internment camps, the government took away everything they owned such as their houses, cars, fishing boats, and their properties. Lots of families lived in hotels with other families or they lived in horse stalls at The Pacific National Exhibition grounds in Vancouver. Others lived in camps in the interior of British Columbia. They lived their until the war ended.
